DSW Inc. and Zappos Reach Settlement in Lawsuit Re

DSW Inc. and Zappos announced yesterday the companies have reached a settlement in a lawsuit brought by DSW in May 2008. The lawsuit related to affiliated marketing over the Internet that included the DSW name. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
“We are pleased to have reacshed an agreement with DSW on this issue,” said Millie Lauren Chou, Associate General Counsel of Zappos. Bshell Jordan, General Counsel of DSW Inc., stated, “We respect Zappos as a competitor, and this case provides a framework for discussing intellectual property and brand equity issues in the affiliate advertising context.”
